With so many things to see and do packed into its two square kilometres, Monaco is a year round destination! Here are five great reasons to visit Monaco this autumn.
1 - Enjoy
the finest dining courtesy of Monaco’s culinary stars
Monaco
is of course home to the iconic Salle des Etoiles, the “Room of Stars”, and its
unparalleled shows featuring some of the world’s best-known artists. And there
are also many other quite unique star-laden rooms with their own spectacular
offerings. Scattered across the Principality, you’ll find an astonishing eleven
Michelin stars shared between seven of the world’s top restaurants, for the
ultimate lunch or dinner experience.
Monaco’s collection of quite exceptional fine-dining venues includes: The Louis
XV-Alain Ducasse at the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo with three Michelin stars,
Le Blue Bay Marcel Ravin which earned a second star in 2022 at the Monte-Carlo
Bay Hotel & Resort, Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac, opened in 2023
and already boasting two stars, La Table d’Antonio Salvatore at Le Rampoldi,
the one-starred Le Grill tucked away on the roof of the Hôtel de Paris,
Pavyllon Monte-Carlo, a Yannick Alléno restaurant at the Hôtel Hermitage, and
Yoshi with its outstanding Japanese fare at the Hôtel Métropole.
2 - Experience the ultimate in relaxation
Monaco
has been synonymous with wellness for a very long time. Société des Bains de
Mer was founded all the way back in 1863, and with the spa was born a
Monegasque tradition of well-being.
Ever since, the Principality has continued to evolve and reinvent itself, while
always remaining true to its core DNA, which sets great store by wellness.
Today, Monaco is home to several spas dedicated to complete relaxation.
Each has its own unique identity: There is the Spa Cinq Mondes at the
Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort with its respect for long-standing tradition
and ceremony, the spa at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo and its nature-inspired
oasis, the Spa Métropole by Givenchy at the Hôtel Métropole with its
sensory-focused treatments, and Les Thermes Marins, a veritable temple of
wellness and a haven of peace and tranquillity overlooking the sea.
3 - Celebrate
culture...the culture of excellence
Monaco
is home to a vibrant cultural scene with unforgettable events all year round.
Its prestigious cultural institutions offer inspirational experiences in unique
venues.
From Les Ballets de Monte-Carlo and its eclectic programme, to the Monte-Carlo
Philharmonic Orchestra for music-lovers, the Opéra with performances for
neophytes and connoisseurs alike, the Théâtre Princesse Grace with a diverse
range of plays, and the Grimaldi Forum providing the stage for world-class
events, the Principality is the pinnacle of cultural life.
4 - Party
the night away by the Mediterranean
The
Principality is home to some of the most exclusive venues in the world,
ensuring a unique nightlife experience with music, dancing, and much more.
The prestige events on the calendar include the Monte-Carlo Jazz Festival, one
of the highlights of the year for music fans. The Festival illuminates the
magnifient Opéra Garnier, honouring both all-time legends and rising stars of
the jazz scene.
And Monaco offers plenty in the way of music venues: Head to La Note Bleue down
by the seaside in the Larvotto district for live performances, try the Salle
Europe Lounge Bar at the Casino de Monte-Carlo for an evening of musical
entertainment, and be among the first to visit New Moods, which opens on 30
November to complete the Monegasque musical landscape with old-school know-how.
Finally, as locals and regulars will know, the funfair returns to Port Hercule
at this time of year, as the leaves turn brown and the nights begin to draw in.
Dodgems, candy floss and ghost trains bring an irresistible joy to the Principality
on autumn evenings, putting big smiles on the faces of every family.
5- Experience
thrilling elite sport
The
Principality has always been serious about its sport. For over a century, some
of the world’s most prestigious competitions have taken place here, with the
greatest champions in their sporting disciplines coming to Monaco to show the
world their talents, in spectacular and unique settings.
This autumn, AS Monaco Basketball and AS Monaco Football Club are looking
forward to some huge fixtures, including matches in the Euroleague and
Champions League where they will face the cream of the European crop. There’s
thrilling action guaranteed…
October will also see the Principality host the Sportel Awards held during
Sportel Monaco,
a major event that brings together top movers and shakers from the sports
industry. Always popular with the public, who are able to come and get a
glimpse of the big-name sports stars in attendance, the Awards ceremony rewards
the very best sporting sequences of the year.
