Historic Monte Carlo Rally

A WRC heritage that respects tradition.

Just four days after the finish of the 93rd WRC Monte-Carlo Rally, the competitors authorised to take the start of this 27th edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally will set off successively from Bad Hombourg, Reims, Monte-Carlo and Turin. Their common destination will be the Place du Champ de Mars in Valence, the prefecture of the Drôme département and a traditional stopover town, which the first competitors will reach on the afternoon of Friday 31 January.

The Organising Committee of the Automobile Club de Monaco wanted this 2025 edition to be even more attractive, with, as usual, a majority of regularity stages (SR) that have helped write the event's great history! There's no doubt that many more competitors will be battling it out for overall victory, in a bid to dethrone Michel Decremer and Jennifer Hugo, winners of the 2024 edition in their 1979 Opel Ascona 400.

They will have to face an equally selective course. As usual, the Historic category is reserved for cars that took part in the Monte Carlo Rallies between 1911 and 1983.

The route devised for the rally is still made up of renowned stages, most of which are generally used by its predecessor in the WRC World Rally Championship. Like the final special stage between "La Bollène-Vésubie - Moulinet / SR 17", which will have its majestic Col de Turini (1607m) as the judge of the peace.

This Rally, placed under the High Patronage of Their Serene Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Monaco and organised by the Automobile Club de Monaco, is an event on the FIA international calendar.

Unlike the WRC Rallye de Monte-Carlo, the Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique is run on open roads and throughout the competition crews must comply strictly with the traffic regulations of the countries they cross.

At the end of the rally, the penalties accumulated along the way (speeding, failure to comply with regulations, route errors, etc.) are expressed in points. The final result is established by adding them up, and the crew with the lowest total is declared the winner.
