Jumping International de Monte-Carlo
A unique setting for an exceptional competition
At the start of each summer, Port Hercule is transformed into an exceptional racetrack, welcoming the world's best riders and horses just a stone's throw from the yachts. After Formula 1 and tennis, the Principality will once again be living to the rhythm of top-level sport. Since 1995, the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo, founded by Diane Fissore and integrated into the Longines Global Champions Tour in 2006, has been thrilling the Rock.
The Port Hercule track has a reputation for being particularly technical, and year after year it attracts the world's elite to come and test their mettle, in the hope of adding another title to their palmares. More than just an equestrian competition, it's a signature event combining sport, luxury and elegance, attracting a passionate public every summer, eager to see the history of equestrian sports written before their eyes.
In 2024, the beautiful story was signed Inès Joly. With Ambassador Z, the French rider signed the only double clear round of the Longines Global Champions Tour - Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco, synonymous with victory. In front of the vibrant stands at Port Hercule, she won ahead of the current world number 7, Austrian Max Künher, and her fellow French rider, Nina Mallevaey. It was her first victory at a very high level, marking a turning point in her young career and an unforgettable moment for Jumping Monaco.
The highlight of the weekend, the LGCT - Grand Prix du Prince de Monaco, with a prize fund of €1.5 million, will be eagerly awaited once again this year. More than just a race for victory, winning this Grand Prix is also an opportunity to secure a ticket for the LGCT - Super Grand Prix des GC Playoffs, to which only the winners of the various stages have access.
The next generation on the rock
On home soil, the Principality's riders will be keen to shine in front of their home crowd. Among them is 21-year-old Íñigo Lopez de la Osa Franco, the next generation of Monegasque jumpers. In his first season in the GCL, the young talent made his debut as a member of Stockholm Hearts. Now based with French rider Simon Delestre, he is continuing his rise to the top level, alongside one of the greatest equestrian families. In front of his public, from 3 to 5 July, he will be keen to confirm all the potential he is considered to have.
Alongside him, the young and talented Anastasia Nielsen, 19, is also a confirmed hope. With several 5* appearances to her name, including her first in 2024 at Port Hercule, the 2023 European Junior Champion is continuing to make her mark among the best.
The Principality's colours will also be flying in the CSI2* and national events, where the youngest riders will be keen to take part in the competition.
The Longines Pro Am Cup sets Port Hercule alight
On Friday evening, Port Hercule will play host to the Longines Pro Am Cup Monaco, an event that has become an essential part of the Monegasque leg. Conceived in 2010 by Mrs Charlotte Casiraghi, this event brings together an amateur rider and an international star in the same team over a relay course. Each pair competes under the colours of a sponsor. The amateur rider opens the course with 7 obstacles at 1.15 m, before handing over to his team-mate, who continues over 1.30 m.
Organised in aid of AMADE, this competition also represents a special opportunity for young riders to benefit from the advice of their mentors, to ride alongside them and to share a rare moment with them on an exceptional track.
