Art takes centre stage
Galleries, auction houses and art enthusiasts are joining forces to offer the public an artistic journey through some of the Principality's most emblematic districts. This tour, punctuated by exhibitions, lectures and meetings with artists, will highlight the diversity of practices and periods. Sculpture, painting and fine jewellery will all be represented, with works ranging from ancient to modern and contemporary art.
Monaco Art Week 2025 brings together 15 participants from different areas of the Principality: Artcurial; Christie's; collect|mc; Hauser & Wirth; HOFA; Hôtel des Ventes de Monte-Carlo; Kamil Art Gallery; Elisabeth Lillo-Renner; Moretti Fine Art; Opera Gallery; Almine Rech; Galerie Adriano Ribolzi; Sotheby's; Teos Gallery Monte-Carlo; M.F. Toninelli Art Moderne.
Monaco Art Week enjoys the invaluable support of its main sponsors, EFG Bank (Monaco) and Moravia Yachting, as well as SMT Société Monégasque de Transports, a loyal partner.
The origins
In spring 2018, based on an idea by Laura De Jonckheere, the Monaco Art Week association was born out of the desire to unite Monaco's cultural institutions by organising events to showcase the Principality's art scene.
Art in all its forms
Sculpture, painting, haute-joaillerie and a wide range of other art forms will be on show to explore a dynamic cultural scene and navigate between different artistic periods during this Monegasque art week, punctuated by events, meetings with artists and conferences.
The MAW is unique in that it covers every period in the history of art. Auction houses and galleries specialising in ancient, modern and contemporary art have come together to meet a single criterion: quality. Each participant is preparing an original exhibition for the event, to showcase its field and discipline, its artists and its history.
Discover Monaco through art
Monaco Art Week, with its "Walking Art Tours", is the perfect opportunity for art lovers to explore the Principality from top to bottom, from the Moneghetti to the Larvotto, via the heart of Monte-Carlo, and thus discover Monaco's cultural landscape.
This format facilitates access to exhibitions, encouraging everyone to explore, while complementing a particularly dense cultural offering at this time of year, with the Grimaldi Forum Monaco hosting the Art Monte-Carlo modern and contemporary art fair, promoting the destination as a must-see art venue, and boosting the Principality's art market́.
The Principality crafts its reputation
One of the association's founding aims is to make the event a major artistic event, with a focus on cultural mediation.
Each edition of the MAW is accompanied by a round table discussion on a topical issue linked to the changing art world, led by internationally renowned speakers.
The MAW showcases a varied artistic landscape and high-quality programming, supported by particularly active members in the Principality.
