Le Figaro Partner - MONACO, a responsible and constantly evolving destination

Its reputation is inversely proportional to its size. Monaco covers an area of 2.08 km² and has established itself on the international stage by hosting a number of major events every year in sectors such as medicine, IT, finance, sport and insurance. The destination has many trump cards up its sleeve: a human scale whose charm is inextricably linked to its professionalism, its immediate proximity to Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport (2nd in France after ADP), state-of-the-art infrastructures that are part of a sustainable development approach, and a network of experts mobilised to ensure the success of every event.

Infrastructure to serve professionals

The Principality of Monaco is undeniably ambitious and visionary. The environmental policy pursued by H.S.H. Prince Albert II aims to preserve the natural heritage, while investing in a thoughtful and responsible future. The PNTE (Pacte National pour la Transition Énergétique - National Pact for Energy Transition) highlights soft mobility, via public transport, electric and/or hybrid vehicles, aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and making travel within the city simple and efficient. The concentration of its infrastructure is also a strong asset in the international events landscape. Monegasque hotels, with a total of nearly 2,500 rooms, are constantly evolving to meet the expectations of an increasingly demanding clientele and continue to contribute to the Principality's international reputation. As part of this constant drive for change, and to meet and even anticipate demand, Mareterra, Monaco's brand new eco-district, symbolises this high-tech, green vision of 21st-century Monaco, giving the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, the Principality's convention centre, an additional 6,000 m² of modular indoor and outdoor space. This is a fantastic opportunity to host even larger-scale events, and to combine several meetings simultaneously.

A network of experts

Whatever the size of the event, the teams at the Monaco Convention Bureau (a department of the Principality of Monaco's Tourism and Convention Authority) provide personalised support by promoting the Principality to business group organisers. Their perfect knowledge of the local area, local players and tailor-made offers make them indispensable contacts for all requests. As facilitators of exchanges between the various partners, they are able to mobilise all the players around a project. Because today's event organisers are sensitive to the environmental impact of their events, the Monaco Tourism and Convention Authority has created a digital guide, available in French and English. It's an educational tool that helps to identify the areas that emit the most greenhouse gases and suggests ways of improving the situation. With the support of the Mission pour la Transition Énergétique (Mission for Energy Transition), the Tourism and Convention Authority has also developed a carbon calculator specifically for Monaco, available online on the Monaco Convention Bureau website. As a leading MICE centre in Europe and internationally, Monaco's art of living and entertaining in a privileged and highly secure environment was recently recognised by the title of Best Destination 2025, an award conferred by tourism professionals and travellers.
