Success Stories: when business events flourish in Monaco

Monaco: a setting conducive to the long-term development of events

Success is built over time. The Principality is proof of this: several international events, held annually or biennially, have grown step by step with each successive edition.

The development of these B2B/B2C meetings and other trade fairs is particularly facilitated by the proximity of Hotels, conference centres, reception venues and event service providers. This facilitates the technical organisation of a medical conference, a corporate seminar, a product launch or a trade fair, as well as the coordination of accommodation, travel, entertainment and associated events.

Organising events in Monaco is therefore not limited to hosting international events: it also contributes to their development. A look back at three iconic success stories.

Monaco Yacht Show: from yacht brokerage to a global showcase for yachting

Launched in 1991 as a gathering for yacht brokerage professionals, the Monaco Yacht Show has gradually broadened its scope to include builders, designers, naval architects, equipment suppliers and players in the luxury sector. According to its managing director, Gaëlle Tallarida, the event has grown from around 60 exhibitors in its early years to nearly 600.

In 2025, the show brought together nearly 560 companies and showcased 120 superyachts in Port Hercule. This growth has made it one of the world’s leading events for luxury yachting and a spectacular showcase for the entire industry. This success is down to an environment that is ideal for yachting: Port Hercule allows vessels to be displayed afloat and remains one of the prime locations for luxury yachting all year round.

Luxe Pack: a Monegasque success story that has gone global

Launched in Monaco in 1988, Luxe Pack has established itself as a global benchmark for high-end creative packaging. The event now brings together around 450 exhibitors and nearly 10,000 visitors, more than half of whom come from abroad.

Its success has also led to events being organised in New York, Shanghai, Los Angeles and Paris. This international expansion demonstrates how a trade fair born in the Principality can become a global brand whilst retaining its historic roots.

Monegasque Cancer Biennial: scientific excellence over the long term

Founded in 1994 by Dr Michel Hery, the Monegasque Oncology Biennial is held every two years in the Principality. Initially organised in more modest venues, with a few hundred guests, it has grown over the years to become one of the leading French-speaking conferences dedicated to oncology, bringing together specialists from around the world for lectures and workshops on the disease and its treatments.

Indeed, its 17th edition, held in 2026 at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco , brought together more than 1,300 professionals to discuss medical and therapeutic advances. This longevity is a testament to Monaco’s ability to foster loyalty within the scientific community and to support the growth of a conference over several decades.
