Meeting of the Strategic Alliance of the National Convention Bureaux of Europe (SANCBE) in Dublin

The SANCBE member convention bureaux came together for strategic discussions and inspiring highlights.

Among the highlights of this meeting was a visit to The Wayfinding Centre, a pioneering initiative launched in January 2024 and dedicated to improving the accessibility of transport and public spaces for people with disabilities. This unique centre brings together stakeholders, transport experts, urban planners, designers, academics and policy-makers to jointly develop more inclusive and sustainable mobility. It has established itself as a true laboratory for social innovation and a model for the future of cities accessible to all.

The meeting also served to strengthen networking among European CVBs, through round-table discussions and debates on key issues for the future of Convention Bureaux. These exchanges highlighted common challenges and opportunities for collaboration within the network.

Another highlight was the establishment of the Alliance’s new organisational structure, with support from the Centre of Convening Minds agency and Felix Rundel. This structural change aims to strengthen the collective momentum and impact of the Alliance.

Finally, the Alliance was delighted to welcome Wales as its 30th member, marking a new stage in its development and European reach.

A big thank you to Ciara Gallagher and her entire team for organising this meeting and for the warm welcome extended to members in Dublin.
