Grimaldi Forum Monaco, 25 years of creation in an exceptional setting
Inaugurated in 2000, the Grimaldi Forum is the expression of Prince Rainier III's desire to position Monaco as one of Europe's leading destinations for business tourism and a major cultural centre.
To mark its 25th anniversary, the building has been enlarged with an extension designed by architects Alexandre Giraldi and Patrick Raymond.
Recognisable by its spectacular glass and steel design, the Principality of Monaco's congress and cultural centre offers a modular surface area of 41,000 m2 overlooking the sea for the organisation of conferences, congresses, trade fairs, exhibitions, concerts and shows. Since its creation in 2000, this unique venue has attracted and retained international events. Ideally located just a few minutes from the Principality's top hotels, the Hotel is acclaimed for the quality of its facilities and the expertise of its teams. It hosts an average of 100 events and 300,000 people a year, and has won over twenty awards and prizes.
Most of its business clients are located in Europe and the United States, mainly in the IT, medical and luxury sectors. 45% of them are repeat clients. These include leaders in their sectors such as AMWC (Informa), Les Assises, One to One Retail E-commerce (Comexposium), Luxe Pack (InfoPro Digital), Sportel and the International Television Festival (Monaco Mediax), and Top Marques, to name but a few.
Our clients particularly appreciate the 'resort' aspect of Monaco, where they can benefit from a comprehensive and concerted offer from the various Monegasque partners mobilised around their event (Convention Bureau, hotels, restaurateurs and convention centre), with diversified and high-quality possibilities, particularly in terms of catering and entertainment. The Monaco area, accessible on foot from all points, in complete safety and with all services within easy reach, offers a unique venue that truly unites the community for the duration of the event. The Grimaldi Forum's other assets include the fairness of its rates - within the average market price - the quality of its services and facilities, and the expertise of its teams... above and beyond the market average!
Following in the footsteps of the Principality of Monaco, which has long pursued a proactive sustainable development policy - with the aim of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 - the Grimaldi Forum is successfully piloting a management system designed to improve the social, economic and environmental impact of all its activities. The GFM, a pioneer in the green sector with ISO 14001 certification since 2008, is also committed to CSR and is ISO 20121 certified.
Since 2008, it has succeeded in improving its energy efficiency by 40%. It has also multiplied its waste sorting rate by 2.5 and reduced its water consumption per visitor by more than half. With a management policy centred on people, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco has also embraced ethical values of benevolence, fairness and sharing since its creation. Its 140 permanent employees, who work in 44 different professions, benefit from constant attention aimed at ensuring their well-being and quality of life at work, while enhancing their skills. From an economic and social point of view, GFM is involved in a wide range of initiatives, which it shares with all its stakeholders. It supports local charities and encourages its employees to get involved. It also shares its best practices with its peers and gives preference to local suppliers and service providers. Finally, it is a major economic driver for Monaco and neighbouring regions.
Since January 2025, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco has benefited from the Principality of Monaco's ambitious offshore extension, which has enabled it to increase its exhibition space by 50%, i.e. an additional 6,000 m². Connected to the rest of the building by a link with the existing Hall Diaghilev, this extension is also accessible via an independent entrance on the sea side. To fully enjoy this exceptional location in the heart of the Principality, 2,000 m2 of outdoor space are also available, including the 600 m2 Ravel terrace with views over the Mediterranean. This new surface area will enable it to host larger-scale events, to combine more events simultaneously and to make its offer more flexible for ever more original event formats!
