Monaco Museum of Prehistoric Anthropology: A Unique Place

Musée d’Anthropologie Préhistorique

The collections on display retrace the major stages in the evolution of humankind through the ice ages and interglacial periods. They show us that over a million years ago, the Côte d'Azur was already a favoured habitat for our distant ancestors.

As a research institute, the Museum carries out excavations in the field, conducts laboratory studies and publishes an annual scientific bulletin, as well as organising exhibitions and outreach activities.

Its team is supported by an International Scientific Committee and numerous regional and international partners.

Open daily from 9am to 6pm, except on 19 November and 25 December.
