Getting around Monaco by bus boat
A bus boat in the port of Monaco
It's called "Camille", and since 2007 it has been crossing the port of Monaco: the Monaco boat bus, operated by Monaco Riviera Navigation, provides a one-kilometre shortcut (compared with walking or driving) between the Principality's two major tourist areas, Monaco-Ville (Le Rocher) and Monte-Carlo. To the south, the boat departs from the Quai Rainier1er, at the end of the Quai Antoine1er, while to the north, the landing stage is on the Quai des États-Unis, next to the Quai Chicane.
The Bateau Bus operates continuously from 8am to 8pm. The journey takes 10 minutes, with departures every 20 minutes. Belonging to the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco (CAM) network, the line follows the Monegasque bus fare system: the journey costs €2 from the sailor, €1.50 by bank card or via the Monapass app , and the various passes (daily, weekly, monthly) and season tickets operate equally well on the water and in the city buses.
A short cut between the Rock and Monte-Carlo
The Bateau bus de Monaco boat crossing of Port Hercule offers visitors and tourists an environmentally-friendly way to get around quickly during their visits. The Quai Antoine 1ᵉʳ is located below Monaco-Ville, a district of the Principality where the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, the Cathedral, the Prince's Palace, the Cruise Terminal and the Digue car park are all located. Once across, on the Quai des États-Unis side, passengers can go to the Auditorium Rainier III or take two lifts to Monte-Carlo. Place du Casino, shopping streets, historic palaces and gardens await visitors in this prestigious area of the Riviera.
