Electric bicycles in Monaco: the MonaBike service
To improve the range of soft mobility options in Monaco, the Prince's Government has entrusted the Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco with the implementation of a self-service bicycle hire service: MonaBike. 49 stations - each with several terminals where the 350 bicycles in the network can be recharged - enable users to pick up bicycles with a maximum range of 60 kilometres and electric assistance that can reach a top speed of 25 km/h. This makes it easy to explore the Principality's mountainous terrain without getting tired, and to visit the districts of Monte-Carlo, Larvotto, the Port or Monaco-Ville in a whole new way: there are numerous charging points in the city-state's tourist and shopping areas.
Electric cars in Monaco: the car-sharing option
Hiring an electric vehicle in Monaco has become child's play thanks to the Mobee by Smeg service, a car-sharing system adapted to new uses. By simply registering via the Mobee application, visitors can hire a licence-free electric vehicle (such as the Twizy) or a real car (such as an electric Smart or Tesla) in a matter of moments. The offer is based on Monaco's various public car parks, so that users can borrow or return the vehicle wherever they like!
